FTPFTP, short for File Transfer Protocol, is a network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another. It includes authentication capabilities as well as the ability to use SSL encryption. The anonymous FTP feature allows FTP repositories to be made public, not requiring user credentials. FTP clients come as command line utilities or GUI capable applications. We recommend the graphical FileZilla client, available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. The powerful cPanel control panel allows for easy administration of FTP accounts though a web browser, as well as the ability to configure anonymous FTP. Each account comes with a primary FTP account, along with the ability to create unlimited sub-users, and the capability to restrict these users to different locations within the account.
