Secure Sockets Layer, more commonly known as SSL, is an encryption mechanism implemented above the transport layer. SSL is used in a number of applications including web browsers, FTP clients, email clients, and VoIP software. In addition to encryption, SSL also provides verification with the use of certificates which are expected by most applications to be signed by a trusted authority.

All of our plans are SSL capable, but due to technical limitations related to the HTTP protocol, SSL requires a dedicated IP address in order to function.
